Research focus

I develop self-supervised deep learning methods that discover human-interpretable concepts, and the relationships between them, directly from unlabelled or weakly labelled data.

About

Patrik Kozlík is a first-year PhD student in Informatics at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Comenius University Bratislava, carrying out his doctoral research at the Institute of Informatics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. His research sits at the intersection of self-supervised representation learning and explainable AI, and centres on concept discovery. He studies how models trained without labels, come to encode meaningful concepts, and how those concepts can be extracted, related to one another and rigorously evaluated. His work focuses on heterogeneous data, especially combined image and tabular data with applications in medical imaging. The goal is to design new methods, metrics and regularisers that make deep models more transparent and trustworthy.
